Nintendo have announced the final major update coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons– adding a Brewster’s coffee shop and much more.
A data-miner had previously discovered much upcoming content. Along with art galleries, bushes, and diving for sea-creatures (all of which later came to the game), coffee and the barista Brewster were mentioned in the game’s code. Today’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct even takes place on Breswster’s birthday.
The update will bring The Roost coffee shop to the museum’s second floor. Some of your island’s residents may also come by for coffee, or invite special guests via amiibo figures and cards.
Kapp’n returns, and for 1,000 Nook Mile tickets can take you on a boat tour. Along with hearing him sing his sea shanty’s, he can take you to special islands with unique plants (such as climable vines)- or a different time of day or season.
Harvey’s island is also expanding. Players can spend bells to help special shop NPCs like Kicks and Sahara set up permanent residents. New shops are also coming, such as Harriet’s special hair-styles (along with the four new ones), Katrina’s Fortune Shop, and special customization via Cyrus and Reese.
Group stretching is done with all your villagers, via motion controls or buttons. You can also dictate Island ordinance; “orders” for your villagers, affecting when they are most active.
New home exteriors for your home will also be available, along with expanding max storage up to 5,000 items. Cooking is also coming to DIY recipes, along with gardening. Meals also seem to fill your stomach more.
A pro decorating licence can be used to decorate rooms with ceiling decor, or a feature wall with different wall-paper to the rest. You can also have up to 10 bridges and ramps each rather than 8.
New fences bring more opportunities for the great outdoors, along with the Pro Camera App. This lets you take a picture at eye-level, and even set up a tripod so you can be in the picture.
Custom Designs previously only used for customizing can now be used as clothing, wallpaper, and flooring. Storage Sheds can also be used to store items in your home, even when outside. You can also set up an ABD terminal outside.
In additions, collectible Gyroids are set to return. Fragments can be found underground, but when buried and watered (or it rains) they grow overnight. Each play instrument like sounds, and interact with songs playing. They can even be painted to match the room.
Players can also make the Wooden Ladder Set Up Kit, to make a permanent ladder. Narrow spaces in home can be squeezed through, villagers can now invite you to their home, or make a visit to your own.
There will also be new reactions, an Island Life 101 for tips, new items to redeem for Nook Miles and in the shop, 12 more K.K. Slider songs, and a music box.
