Oak Park, Illinois. — — The father and daughter duo work kindly to connect people at the Oak Park coffee shop.
Coffee beans come from all over the world before being roasted in “Whirlwind Coffee”.
Co-owner David Silverstein and his 9-year-old daughter Maya value tenderness over coffee.
Elana, David’s wife and Maya’s mother, died nine years ago. Elana’s enthusiasm for life encouraged David to open a coffee shop and worked to connect people everywhere in life.
Maya occupies the majority of coffee shops and works as a taste expert while learning how small businesses work.
“I’m never bored. There’s a lot to do around me,” Maya said.
100% of Whirlwind Coffee’s net profit goes to various charities. David rents out indoor and outdoor space for fundraising, but emphasizes that giving back is what the community really appreciates.
